TrackPoint

Program installation:

1) Copy the contents of the file, TRACKPOINT.ZIP to a new directory.
2) Run TRACKPOINT.EXE
3) Enter an Amateur Radio Callsign
4) Enter you Longitude and Latitude for range and bearing calculation

Connection Modes:

APRServe/APRSD
The programs TRACKPOINT.INI file is setup to allow connections the APRServe and APRSD.  To connect, select the desired Server, and click the Connect button.

KIPSS
To connect to KIPSS (Kiss over IP),  close the program and edit the TRACKPOINT.INI file.  Modify or add the follow key value:
KIPSS=1

Start the program, enter you callsign, and the password you have configured KIPSS to have.  Then click the Connect button.  You should then see your callsign in the KIPSS Connections list.  Note - Trackpoint is not compatible with KIPSS/PE.  KIPSS/PE needs to be updated to make it compatible with Trackpoint.  Hopefully, I will do this in the near future.

Maps
Trackpoint is configured to use MPS files and to run with Garmins MapSource (MPS)  program.  You need have running both Trackpoint and MPS.  
Method 1: Double click on any station of list of stations
Method 2: Select the desired stations to map, click the Map menu item.
Method 3: Select the desired stations to map, and set Redraw to the desired value (Tracking mode)
Method 4: Click the MapAll menu option.
Method 5: Copy the data for a single station to the Window Clipboard, and paste into your favorite program, such as Excel.  Manipulate the data as desired.

Other operating notes:
Setup Tab - Range.  If a range value ( in miles ) has been entered, only stations with in the range will be accepted as input.
Position Tab - Calls.  If a callsign, or callsigns, with wildcards has been entered, only stations that meet this specification will be accepted as input.
Trackpoint acquires Position and Status packet simular to the APRS protocol as published on the TAPR web site.  Clicking on a callsign will show the station status in the upper status bar.


Program notes:  With the Demo Registration number, TD7388 entered, the program allow for the generation of 12 maps, and then no more maps will be drawn until the program is restarted.  The Unregistered version will not reload position data on program startup.
